Safety tips

  • Take care of your skateboard or skates.
  • Check regularly for any problems before you use your board or skates.
  • Wear protective gear. Always wear shoes, helmets and padding.
  • Do not ride on the road or in traffic.
  • Look out for pedestrians – remember they have the right of way on footpaths.
  • Carry your board when crossing roads.

Skateboard riders and skaters should wear:

  • Bright clothes
  • Helmets
  • Slip resistant shoes (closed)
  • Knee- and elbow pads
  • Wrist guards
  • Protective gloves

 

Watch out for vehicles coming out of driveways!
